I am deeply honored and privileged   to inform the inception of Nepal Hernia Society (NHS), whose main aim is to promote, educate and improve hernia surgery in the Nepal.

With the mandate, the executive committee and our society’s member will work tirelessly in the advancement of hernia surgery in our region.

More and more National member of NHS are being formed further increasing our brotherhood in the country. We will further empower our national members to be active in terms of training, research and education. Our membership is our source of inspiration for board and officers to work hard for the betterment of our society.

We will continue to collaborate with other hernia societies in the world (APHS, EHS, HSI etc.) in order to foster brotherhood and camaraderie between our societies, which will foster further learning, and education to all our members.

The Hernia training program which was conducted in past by NHS in different part of country, will continue to educate our young surgeons. The training course involves a comprehensive (open and laparoscopy, groin and ventral/ incisional) and structured program based on current international guidelines on hernia management (EHS, APHS, SAGES, IEHS and HerniaSurge guidelines). The Hernia training program now evolved in to a basic and advanced component which will seek standardization of hernia training in the our region.

We are pleased that our industry partners continually support us in our educational undertaking and we recognize and appreciate their invaluable contribution to our endeavor to further expand our horizons in surgical training and education. The executive committee and members will continually work for excellence in hernia surgery in the country.
